Back to the People I Said "See You Again" To
My journey in Australia is coming to an end. I spent months writing a book and didn't have any time to explore the areas around me. When I thought about where I wanted to go last, where I wouldn't regret going, I decided to visit the people who helped me in Adelaide.
To put it simply, when I first arrived in Adelaide, I was invited to stay at someone else's place, but it turned out to be a complete mess—like a hoarder's house. Just when I was thinking this was bad, I got a message from someone living in Adelaide. When we parted ways, we said "let's meet again," so I decided if I had time at the end, I'd go see them.
One Night in Sydney: Checking into a Guesthouse
My flight was at noon the next day, so I decided to stay one night in Sydney. It was more of a guesthouse than a hotel, around 3,000 yen in the city. I checked in early.

That night, I had plans to meet an Australian friend I'd run into a few times in Malaysia. We met up near the station by the Opera House and went to a Japanese restaurant.

It had an izakaya vibe, and there seemed to be more foreigners, Chinese, and Australians than Japanese. While I was writing my book, I didn't have the luxury of enjoying myself, so it was nice to refresh like this.
Botanical Garden at the End
After dinner, we went to the Botanical Garden and took some photos. The sun was quietly setting, and a naval ship stood still in the harbor. It was beautiful.

This was probably the last time I'd see this Australian friend, so I'm glad we got to spend some good time together.
