First Outing in Months: A Trip to the Wildlife Reserve
I've been staying in Newcastle for a few months now. Since I'd been spending most of my time indoors, I decided to go to a nearby wildlife reserve for a change of pace. It's called Blackbutt Reserve Wildlife Exhibit in New Lambton. Entry is free.
Right near the parking area, peacocks were wandering around. Before even entering, you already get that wildlife vibe.

Australian Animals Across Two Areas
The reserve is roughly divided into two areas. The first one has koalas, wombats, birds, giant lizards, and various other animals. The second area is where you can see kangaroos and emus. It's pretty impressive that you can enjoy all this for free.
If you're ever in Newcastle, I'd definitely recommend checking it out.
