Farewell and Gratitude in Bunbury

On March 4, I left Bunbury after staying two nights with Will and his family. My heart was filled with gratitude. The timing of our meeting had been a miracle—if I had contacted them even a little later, I might not have met them at all, as they were about to begin their own journey. The kindness and generosity they showed me will stay with me for a long time.
Preparing the Bicycle Setup
Before heading out, I started setting up my bicycle once again. After about ten days in Australia, I finally began to see what my “ideal setup” might look like. Yet, depending on how much gear I was carrying, the arrangement changed each time. In a way, that constant adjustment was part of the fun—an evolving puzzle of travel.
It only took me ten minutes to finish today’s setup. Once the bike was loaded and ready, I felt that familiar excitement of heading into the unknown.
Riding Together for a While
Will kindly walked alongside me for part of the way as I set off. It had been such a long time since I had cycled with someone else, and the feeling was refreshing. Sharing the road, even for a short distance, made the departure lighter and warmer.
After we parted, about ten minutes later, I remembered something I had to do. I stopped at a park, opened my laptop, and spent some time focusing on computer work before continuing the ride.
Arriving at a New Host’s Home

By late afternoon, I arrived at my new host’s house. Their garden immediately caught my eye—an environment full of vegetables and fruit trees. For me, someone who dreams of someday creating a space to grow my own food, it was inspiring and educational to see how they had built it.
When I mentioned my admiration, my host handed me a jar of homemade honey. It was golden, fragrant, and rich. I thought to myself, “This will definitely make breakfast more exciting.” But I also laughed quietly—if I started drinking it directly from the jar, it would disappear far too quickly.
