Time Flies When You're Getting Ready
May 23rd. My mom headed out for a two-day trip to a music festival and some hot springs. I saw her off at 9 AM, leaving just my grandparents and me at home. We spent the day relaxing and sharing some drinks together.
I'll be leaving for Narita Airport on the 26th, which means there are only four days left, including today. It's honestly terrifying how fast time flies. I remember thinking I still had a month and a half, and suddenly, it's almost time to go. But looking back at that time, I did a lot of cleaning and took care of everything I possibly could. I feel a sense of pride in what I've accomplished.
Cherishing the Simple Things

For lunch, my grandma whipped up some delicious fried rice. When dinner rolled around, I walked over to Hokka-Hokka Tei to pick up some food.

It was surprisingly crowded, but I grabbed our meals, walked back, and we ate together. Every day might seem like a repeat of the last, but the departure date is creeping up. I really want to cherish each and every day.

Later in the night, just before 1 AM, my grandpa and I were sipping wine while watching the 2010 World Cup match between Japan and Cameroon. I thought about calling it a night, but then it hit me. I only have three days left to share a glass of wine with him like this. So, I'm heading back out there to pour another glass.
