A Shattered Routine and a Late Start

May 19th. I finally rolled out of bed at exactly 12:00 PM. For someone who usually wakes up around 5:30 AM, sleeping in this late is almost unheard of. I guess the exhaustion from traveling really caught up with me. It's crazy how easily a simple change of scenery can completely shatter your daily habits. Experiencing this massive gap in my schedule made me realize just how crucial your environment and sleep conditions are for maintaining a solid routine.
Getting My Hands Dirty and Running Errands

Since it was already noon, I grabbed some lunch and headed out to the yard to plant some roses. I ended up recycling some old, unused soil to create a fresh bed for them. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing since I'd never done it before, but once I got my hands dirty, I found the whole process surprisingly fascinating.
After wrapping up the gardening, I took a 30 to 40-minute walk down to Daiso to pick up some packing supplies for a book I needed to ship. The long walk there and back was a nice way to stretch my legs and enjoy a slow afternoon.
Burning the Final Sunset into My Soul

As the day wound down, I was treated to another breathtaking sunset. According to the weather forecast, we're expecting heavy rain for the next couple of days. Honestly, I'm totally fine with that—anything to escape the heat.
But it hit me: with the impending rain, this might actually be the last beautiful sunset I get to see before I leave the country. Realizing that, I took a moment to really soak it in. I wanted to make sure I completely burned this gorgeous sunset into my memory and my soul before hitting the road.
