A Home Filled with Nature

Life in Tasmania is slowly sinking into me. Today, I was invited to spend time with a family at their home. This encounter became one of the reasons I felt truly glad that I had come to Tasmania.
Their house was spacious, and their garden was breathtakingly beautiful. Yet what moved me most was not the size of the house or the view, but the way they lived.
Their daily life was centered around the vegetables and fruits they grew in the garden. They lived in harmony with nature, not only eating from it but also planning to make bags from plant fibers. Their lifestyle carried the word sustainable deep at its core.
Even in the smallest moments, that philosophy appeared. Vegetable scraps from cooking, water from washing dishes—everything was gathered into the compost in their garden and returned to the cycle of life.
“Everything that comes from nature should be given back to nature,” she said.
Those words struck me quietly but deeply. Something I had always taken for granted suddenly felt pale in comparison. At the same time, I realized there are things I, too, can do.
Traveling the world is not only about seeing new landscapes. It is about touching different ways of living. Being in the atmosphere of this home reminded me of that truth.
A Walk Toward the Lake

The afternoon passed without plans. I read a book in the garden, listened to the rustle of leaves in the wind. But as the sun began to sink, I felt the urge to move. I decided to walk to the nearby town.
After ten minutes on foot, I came across a small lake.
Ducks gathered at the water’s edge, tilting their heads as if studying me. Their calls, the sound of their wings, the quiet steps on the earth—all of it became part of nature’s rhythm.
Each time the wind brushed against my cheek, ripples spread across the water. The scent of the air, the soft colors, the gentle sounds—they all felt strangely familiar, as if I had known them before.
This place was nothing like the noise of a city. It was quiet, yet full.
A Shift Within
The beauty of this land is not only in how it looks. It is in the time that flows here, carrying its own richness.
I have not been in Tasmania long, but something deep within me is already beginning to change.
To travel is not only to discover new scenery. It is to encounter new values. Each day here leaves a mark inside me, becoming part of who I am.
