A Short Ride to Mandurah

On February 26, I left Baldivis and made my way toward a new townâMandurah. It wasnât a long journey, only about 20 kilometers, so I took my time and enjoyed the ride.
The road to Mandurah had a proper cycling lane, something I continue to deeply appreciate. Having a safe, dedicated space for cyclists gives such peace of mind, especially after traveling through regions where roads can feel unpredictable.
By the morning, I had already arrived at the house where I would be staying for the night.
The Charm of Australian Homes with Gardens

Whenever I stay with a host, I find myself admiring their gardens. In Australia, it seems almost every family agrees on one thing: a garden is essential.
A garden is not just about beautyâitâs a place to relax, do DIY projects, or simply step outside to breathe freely. But with such a luxury comes cost, as garden homes are generally more expensive depending on the area. Still, every time I see one, I can understand why people value it so highly.
My First Kangaroo Encounter

In the afternoon, my host suggested we take a walk through the nearby bushland. It was there that I finally saw my first kangaroo in Australia.
They were a little far away, but their size was striking. I had heard that some species stand taller than meâeven over 180 cmâand now I could see it was true. Encounters like this remind me of discovering new creatures, like stepping into a world I had never known before. It filled me with excitement.
As we continued exploring, I also stumbled upon a giant wooden sculpture. My host explained that these large figures can be found not only in Mandurah but also in various other places across the region.
A Taco Dinner to End the Day

After our walk, we returned home and began preparing dinner together. The meal was tacosâyes, another round of Mexican food after the previous day, but once again, it was absolutely delicious.
Sharing food and cooking together made the evening feel warm and memorable. It seems my time in Mandurah will be just as special as the days before.
