A Cold Awakening

This day began with cold. Not just a little, but a biting chill that reached through the tent. My feet were damp, and the fatigue from a sleepless night weighed on my entire body. The heavy rain had seeped into the tent overnight, leaving me unable to rest properly.
It wasn’t until close to nine in the morning that I could finally move. The first thing I did was prepare a cup of coffee. The warmth spread through me, steadying my mind. That single cup reminded me just how much comfort and strength a simple drink can bring.
Drying Out and Gathering Strength

I packed up my soaked belongings and made my way to a covered park where I could dry things out. For about an hour and a half, I spread my gear in the sun whenever the clouds broke and rested my tired body.
The next destination was Brunswick, in the northern part of Melbourne. After the freezing night, I realized that my current sleeping bag was no longer reliable. Through Facebook Marketplace, I found a second-hand one waiting for me there.
This ride was the first time I covered more than 20 kilometers with the trailer attached. I had been nervous, but once I started pedaling, I found a rhythm. Somehow, things worked out.
Meeting a Kind Stranger

When I arrived in Brunswick, the seller was already waiting. He was a kind, cheerful man. Not only did he hand me the sleeping bag, but he also offered a rain poncho as a gift.
“So you’re traveling the world with this?” he said with amazement, smiling as he encouraged me. His genuine support warmed me as much as the gear itself.
The sleeping bag fit perfectly into my trailer and felt like exactly what I needed. I was grateful for this meeting—it felt like another small piece of luck guiding me forward.
A Lucky Discovery

Next, I went east in search of spare tubes for the trailer. The tires were a special size, not easy to find at most shops. Along the way, I stumbled upon a campsite that felt just right.
It was one of those places where instinct simply says, “Stay here.” I didn’t hesitate to decide. That small moment of intuition felt like the day’s true reward, the right ending for a challenging but fulfilling day.
