Breakfast Goals at the Local Food Stand
August 29th. Kicked off the day with a 5-minute stroll to a local food stand I first discovered on day one. Seriously, the food here hits different.
I have this weird personal mission to try as many different dishes as possible in my lifetime, so I've been ordering completely new things every day. Today's lineup? Soup, tahu (tofu), ayam (chicken), and some perfectly crisped-up mi goreng. So good. It was the ultimate breakfast combo.

Discovering "Walking Soccer"
Taking a post-breakfast walk, I stumbled upon a local soccer court by the park. A bunch of guys—mostly in their late 30s and 40s—were playing a match, but as I watched, something felt... off.
Nobody was running.
Wait, they literally aren't allowed to run! If you run, it's an instant penalty kick. I guess it's a clever rule to prevent injuries as we get older? I ended up watching them for a solid 10 minutes. Honestly, it's a completely different vibe and I kind of love it. A cool new take on the sport.

The Ultimate Budget Lunch
For lunch, I grabbed a dish called Udang—a hearty plate of rice, shrimp, and some noodles on the side. Sure, there were only about two or three pieces of shrimp, but the flavor was spot on.
And the best part? The whole plate cost only 25,000 Rupiah (about $1.60 USD). You really can't beat that price. This is exactly why I love eating local.

The Pull of the Night Alleys
When night fell, I decided to go for a wander through the narrow, unfrequented back alleys behind the main streets.
Barely a soul was around. It was a little eerie, but there's something undeniably captivating about these quiet, gritty streets that just draws me in. Just soaking up the raw, unfiltered vibe of the city. Another amazing day in the books!
