A New Decision

After returning from my journey in Tasmania, I decided to try a new way of traveling.
That was to attach a trailer to my bicycle. It may not sound like much, but for me it carried a sense of determination.
I realized that just riding my bicycle was no longer enough. I wanted something more.
On Facebook Marketplace, I found a used trailer that caught my eye. I contacted the seller and went to see it in person. It was sturdier than I expected, and the moment I saw it, I thought, “This is the one.”
But when I tried to connect it to my bike, it didn’t fit. As it was, I couldn’t use it. Still, that wasn’t the end.
The seller told me his friend owned a bike shop nearby and could customize it to fit.
And as if by fate, that shop was only a three-minute walk from my current host’s house. It felt as though I was being guided somehow.
A Flower and a Letter

When I returned home, I remembered something: today was my host’s last day at work.
Throughout my journey, I’ve been cared for by many people. But someone like her, who opened not just her home but also her heart, sharing daily life with me—that made me want to give something back.
There was no reason beyond that. I simply wanted to.
So I bought a flower at the nearby shop and wrote a short letter.
“I didn’t do anything special, but this stay has been such a warm and meaningful time for me. From my heart, thank you.”
I placed the flower and the letter quietly at the entrance.
What Travel Means to Me
When I think about it, this is what my journey is made of. Moments when I feel, “I want to do this,” and when I know, “If I don’t, I’ll regret it.”
Some might call it self-satisfaction. But if it warms someone’s heart, even a little, isn’t that enough?
With a trailer, I may be able to carry more things on my travels from now on.
But perhaps what matters most is that I can fill that trailer not only with belongings—but also with kindness.
