The Zen of Yard Work

My main mission today was an all-out war on weeds and some heavy tree pruning. I paced myself, breaking the work down into three or four manageable sessions. While having a beautifully manicured garden is a great reward in itself, pitching in with the yard work is honestly more about self-satisfaction for me. I do it simply because I want to, which makes it easy to meticulously and carefully tend to our outdoor space.
The weather was absolutely gorgeous. Taking advantage of the beautiful sunshine, I aired out my mother's futon and hung up some unused items to dry. For lunch, I treated myself to a refreshing bowl of soba noodles—the perfect midday reset.

Balancing Motion and Stillness
In the afternoon, I dove right back into the weeds, but I also managed to squeeze in some web development work in between my gardening sessions. There was a clear, refreshing contrast between the physical exertion of moving my body and the deep, silent focus required for coding. Finding this balance was a great new discovery for me, making the day incredibly interesting and dynamic.
Imperfect Omurice and True Wealth

Dinner was a humble but delicious spread: grated daikon radish, julienned cucumbers, and an omurice (omelet rice) that had lost its perfect shape somewhere along the way.
Looking at the sheer variety of food on our table every single day really makes me reflect. When you look at it from a global perspective, this is the very definition of a rich, fulfilling life. We get to eat diverse meals, we have a safe place to sleep, and everyone can simply spend time at their own pace.
I want to make sure I truly cherish each and every meal we share.
