A Milestone on the Journey
Today marks 120 days since I began my journey in Australia. Four months have passed before I even realized it.
And today was also the day I left the house where I had stayed for a full month. Stays that long are rare. Usually, two or three days with a host is already more than generous. To be welcomed for a month and given the freedom to live there—it filled me with gratitude.
In the morning, I expressed my thanks before setting off.
Starting with the Trailer

My next destination was another house where I had been invited to stay. It was about fifteen kilometers away. The distance wasn’t long, but something important changed today:
For the first time, I began traveling with a trailer attached to my bicycle.
Up to now, it had always been just me and the bike. But from today, I carried a small trailer loaded with my belongings. It was heavier than I expected. Sometimes it didn’t go the way I wanted, and even small slopes demanded more strength. The new weight and resistance felt strange at first, and I was slightly unsettled.
But this, too, is part of the journey—a new style, a new rhythm. The first day is never perfect.
When I finally arrived safely at my destination, I felt relieved.
Looking Ahead
Nothing dramatic happened today, but it still felt like a day of transitions and milestones.
From tomorrow, I will head north of Melbourne. On the 29th, I’ll return once more to the city for a cycling event.
This coming week, I want to take my time and see how I can adapt to this new way of traveling—with a trailer by my side.
