Heading to Kobe for New Connections
It’s been two days since I started staying at Mr. Iwamura's house. Today, we took a little road trip down to Kobe to meet up with some of his acquaintances.

After a nice lunch out with the group, we headed over to one of their homes to hang out and relax.

We sat around eating sweet kumquats and shooting the breeze in a warm, welcoming circle.

Sewing Machines and Life Stories
The conversations bounced all over the place in the best way possible. We swapped travel stories, talked about kids and grandkids, and even touched on medical topics. One particularly fascinating story was about someone who makes beautiful handcrafted items using a sewing machine.
The folks we met were from Osaka, and they possessed that signature Kansai vibe—incredibly kind, fiercely cheerful, and naturally gifted conversationalists. They had this amazing rhythm, just speaking whatever came to mind with such ease and joy.

The Nurturing Power of Words and a Golden Hour Drive
What really struck me, though, was the sheer power of their words. It felt like the things they said didn't just vanish into thin air; instead, their words acted like seeds that naturally nurtured and lifted up everyone in the room. It made me deeply reflect on the happiness and true purpose behind the words we choose to share.
We snapped a few group photos before saying our goodbyes. On the drive back in Mr. Iwamura's car, I was treated to a breathtakingly beautiful sunset.

Once we got back to the house, we wrapped up this perfect day with yet another delicious home-cooked meal.
