A Refreshing Start
April 17th. When I first woke up, I genuinely thought it was going to rain, but I was greeted by an incredibly refreshing morning. Sure, the first two hours had a bit of a chill in the air, but it turned out to be a beautiful and fulfilling start to the day.
Pushing Past Limits

I kicked things off with a strength training session, and it felt amazing. Pushing past my usual limits and gradually updating my personal best gave me this incredible surge of empowerment. It’s a great reminder of what I’m actually capable of, and it really built up my confidence and vitality for the day.
However, I did have a moment of weakness. When I opened my laptop, I let myself get completely sidetracked by entertaining YouTube videos. My focus was totally off. Even though I got my tasks done, I still felt like my body had extra fuel left in the tank. Knowing I could have done more, this lack of focus was definitely the low point of my day.
Japanese Pizza & Chilling Out

For lunch, my grandma whipped up some Okonomiyaki. It reminded me of an old acquaintance from my Tokyo days who used to call it "Japanese Pizza," which always brings a nostalgic smile to my face. Afterwards, I took it easy and watched a midday TV show about a food and walking tour in Kawagoe.
Errands and The Dentist
At 4:00 PM, I headed to the dentist for a nerve treatment. I was bracing myself for a long ordeal, but surprisingly, they knocked it out in a single visit. The best part? It only cost me 2,200 yen (about $15 USD), which was a huge relief.
My mom finished her appointment around 5:30 PM, so we swung by the grocery store together. Unfortunately, the shelves were totally cleared of eggs due to the recent bird flu outbreak. Since my parents will be around tomorrow anyway, we figured we could just buy what we need then, and headed home.
Winding Down

Dinner was simple but perfect: mackerel, rice, and a meat-and-potato dish. It was a bit rustic, but honestly, it’s exactly the right portion size for me right now. I ended up accidentally crashing for a two-hour nap afterwards, but overall, it was a really fulfilling day. There's always room for improvement, though—tomorrow, I’m locking in that focus!.
