Breakfast Before the Ride

November 27th marked the day I would finally reach Kuala Lumpur. Before setting out, I stopped at the food stall next to my guesthouse for breakfast. As expected, it was delicious.
In every country I've traveled through, I've sometimes come across meals that made me hesitate. But in Malaysia, I haven't had a single bad dish. For a traveler, that reliability is such a blessing. After finishing, I prepared my gear and put on extra protection for the rain, since the weather was less than kind.
On the Road in the Rain

I rode for about four hours through steady rain, making good progress toward the city. Near Kuala Lumpur, I stopped to rest and tried a drink that, I was told, was Indian. It had a refreshing taste, the kind of thing you want when you need to clear your head.
Moments like that—a pause in the journey, discovering something new—remind me that travel is not just about reaching the destination. It's also about the small encounters along the way.
First Impressions of Kuala Lumpur

Soon after, the skyline of Kuala Lumpur came into view, and I entered the city. I had assumed it wouldn't feel as chaotic as Bangkok or Ho Chi Minh City, but I was wrong. The streets were every bit as crowded, if not more. Traffic demanded my full attention, but I couldn't help feeling a rush of excitement.
By the time I arrived near my WarmShowers host's home, I had covered 54.9 kilometers. Thanks to yesterday's long effort, today's ride was shorter and more manageable. I silently thanked my past self for pushing hard the day before.
Waiting and Reflecting

The host wasn't home yet, so I wandered into a nearby Starbucks. It had been a long time since I last visited one, and the familiar atmosphere gave me a chance to rest and focus. I opened my laptop, worked on video editing, and organized notes for my blog.
It felt good to pause, to reflect on how far I had come, and to realize that I had reached Malaysia's capital city by bicycle.
