Morning in a New Guesthouse

October 15. Hello from a new guesthouse in Bangkok. Since I had worked until late last night, I woke up around nine in the morning. The room was quiet, and the air still heavy from the night.
When I stepped into the hallway, I was surprised. Even though it was morning, the corridor was completely dark. This guesthouse had no lights in the hallway, and there was almost no natural light coming in either. I couldn’t help but laugh at the odd atmosphere. Still, I reminded myself—it’s all part of the experience of staying in different places while traveling.
After getting ready, I prepared to meet the Korean traveler I had seen yesterday. Today we had promised to sit down and talk more.
Meeting a Fellow Traveler

I rode my bicycle for about twenty minutes before reaching our meeting spot. Seeing him again after just one day brought a sense of comfort. We shared stories about our past travels and spoke about our future plans.
He told me that in a few years, when I visit Korea, we could meet again. We shook hands and made that promise.
Before leaving, he guided me to a café with delicious coffee. That small gesture meant a lot. Traveling often brings moments like this—kindness offered without expecting anything in return. As I sipped the coffee, I silently thought, thank you.
Wandering the Streets and Markets

After we parted ways, I rode my bicycle aimlessly through the neighborhood. A large market caught my eye, and I thought about buying a few things. But when I got closer, I noticed there was no place to park my bicycle, and most stalls seemed to sell only clothing. So I decided to leave it behind and head toward food stalls instead.
At one stall, I ordered a bowl of noodles—55 baht, about 246 yen. They called it a large size, but it was far from it. Still, the flavor was satisfying, and my hunger was gone. Beside the stall was a small park. After eating, I walked slowly through the park, enjoying the fresh air.
As I walked, I thought about my GoPro camera. I use it to record my cycling along the roads, but I always wonder how I should use that footage. Maybe someday, when I look back, the recordings will mean something. For now, I just keep capturing the ride.
A Café Full of Warmth

Later, I returned near the guesthouse and stopped at a café. The staff welcomed me with genuine smiles, and their kindness stayed with me. These small interactions remind me how important people are in shaping the memory of a place.
I ordered an orange Americano—70 baht, about 313 yen. Usually, I always drink iced Americanos, but one of the staff recommended this new option. I decided to try it, and to my surprise, the mix of bitterness and citrus sweetness blended perfectly. It was refreshing and unique.
I thanked the staff again. Without their suggestion, I would have missed this little discovery.
Ending the Day with Football

Back at the guesthouse, I settled in to watch the Japanese national football team play. I worked on my blog as the match unfolded. The game ended in a draw, which was a little disappointing, but as I looked back on the day, I realized how full it had been.
From meeting a fellow traveler, to wandering through markets and parks, to tasting something new at a café—today was a day of movement, encounters, and gratitude.
